In line with the provision of the 2012 edition of the NCCE minimum standards, the Academic Board of the Diamond College of Education formerly created the School of Early Childhood Care and Primary Education. The school is created to train teachers primarily to teach children at their formative years i.e. Nursery and Primary Schools, these being the foundation stone upon which the educational structure rest. Academic staff of the two departments are therefore mostly specialists in Childhood Education and are competent to train NCE Teachers who are expected to teach children and lay a sound foundation for the educational pursuit of the Nigerian child.
